Terms of Service

You must be 18 or older. Keep your sign-in secure; you're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at support@mydashlight.com if you suspect misuse.

You own everything you write, record, and upload. You give Dashlight a limited permission to store, display, and process it only to provide the service — for example to show a memorial you publish or print a book you order. You confirm you have the right to share what you upload. See our Content Policy.

You choose who may act as your Trusted Curator. Curators agree to act in good faith and only activate Memorial Mode after your passing. Activation by mistake can be reversed by the account owner. Misuse of curator access may lead to removal.

Packages (Memoir, Dashlight Core, Legacy Keepsake) are one-time purchases — no subscriptions or monthly fees. Prices are in US dollars; applicable sales tax is calculated at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe.

A gift purchase creates a claim code that can be redeemed once by the recipient's account. Scheduled gift emails are sent on the chosen date. Unclaimed gifts do not expire while Dashlight operates.

You may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase if you're not satisfied, provided a physical plaque or book has not yet entered production. A refund removes access unlocked by that package and voids an unclaimed gift code. Email support@mydashlight.com to request one.

Physical items ship to US addresses only. Production begins after the memorial is activated so the plaque links to the correct page. Delivery times are estimates. You're responsible for getting any permission required by a cemetery, park, or property owner before installing a plaque; Dashlight isn't responsible for installation or site rules.

Memorials are intended to stay online permanently at no ongoing cost. If Dashlight ever had to stop operating, we would give at least 90 days' notice and provide a way to export memorial content.

Optional AI writing help suggests edits to your own words. Review drafts before using them. Dashlight does not generate voices, likenesses, or impersonations of anyone.

Don't upload unlawful, hateful, harassing, or infringing content, impersonate others, or try to access accounts or memorials you're not authorized for. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Dashlight is provided "as is." Preparedness tools help you organize information but are not legal, financial, or medical advice — consult a professional for wills and estate matters. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months.

We may update these terms and will notify you of meaningful changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Contact: support@mydashlight.com.
