Memorials hold real people's lives. These rules keep them respectful, truthful, and safe for families.
Share only what you have the right to share
By uploading a photo, story, or voice note, you confirm you took it, own it, or have permission from whoever does. Please be thoughtful about people shown in photos, especially children.
Family approval
Guest book signatures and shared memories are reviewed by the memorial's family or curators before anyone else sees them. Families may decline or remove any submission.
Real material only
Dashlight is built on authentic memories. We do not allow AI-generated images, cloned voices, or simulations presented as the person. Writing help only tidies words people actually wrote or said.
Not allowed
Hateful, harassing, sexual, violent, or unlawful content; private information about others shared without consent (such as addresses or account numbers); copyrighted material you don't have rights to; spam or advertising.
Requesting removal
If something on a memorial shows you, your child, or your work without permission, or is inaccurate or hurtful, email support@mydashlight.com with the memorial link and what you'd like removed. We aim to respond within 5 business days and will contact the memorial's family.
Copyright owners may send a notice including their contact details, the work, the location on Dashlight, and a good-faith statement that the use isn't authorized.
Disputes between family members
When relatives disagree about a memorial, we generally follow the decisions of the appointed Trusted Curators, and may temporarily hide contested content while a dispute is resolved.
