Eight steps from "it's time" to a published Memorial Mode. Walk through them in order — Dashlight remembers what's done.

Confirm activation
The trusted curator signs in through their invitation and activates Memorial Mode from the Curator Portal.

Review the biography and wishes
Open the Living Biography and Preparedness sections the person recorded. Read their My Story, My Wishes, and any notes to you before changing anything.

Select what becomes public
Choose which stories, photos, timeline events, and sayings appear on the public Memorial Page. Everything else stays private to the family dashboard.

Choose platforms to notify
Pick where the passing is announced — Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, text threads, email lists, community groups. The Social Announcement Kit will generate a draft for each.

Generate announcement templates
Edit the templates' tone, paste the wake details, and confirm the memory contribution link is included before sending.

Open the memory collection link
Share the no-account submission link with family and friends. Stories, photos, quotes, and voice notes come back into the family dashboard for moderation.

Prepare the wake display
Test the rotating tribute on the tablet, TV, or projector you'll bring to the service.

Request QR plaque or publish the memorial
Submit the plaque order and publish the public memorial page. The QR code stays on the marker so visitors can scan the stone and meet the story.
